TEAM FORM 02 / VENTURE-LIKE

WBCOFFEE

WorkBuddyCoffeeVenture-like small team

WBCoffee is a venture-like small team formed around a concrete, more demanding shared goal.

It does not begin with “open a coffee shop first.” It begins with a goal worth carrying together, then forms roles, tasks, choices, collaboration and Return around that goal.

Opening a Coffee is not the sole existence test; the team label creates no franchise, employment or legal partnership.

A HARDER COMMITMENT

WBCoffee feels like a venture-like small team: one shared goal, then roles, tasks and choices around it.

“Coffee” may point to a future real-world project, space or other concrete result. But opening a coffee space is neither a prerequisite for the team to exist nor its only measure of success. A team begins when people explicitly commit to the same goal and real collaboration starts. Results, learning and stopping all need an honest record.

01 / CONCRETE GOAL

The goal must be concrete enough to force trade-offs.

A slogan cannot form a WBCoffee. The goal needs to say whose situation should change, within what boundary, and how the team will decide to continue, revise or stop.

01A

OBJECT

For a specific person or scene

The goal points to a real subject—not “all AI users.” The clearer the subject, the easier it is to judge what is useful.

01B

OUTCOME

A change that can be examined

An outcome may be one delivery, a tested use case, a repeatable action or clear evidence that the direction should stop.

01C

CONSTRAINT

Know what not to do

Time, cost, permission, privacy and public claims need boundaries. Harder does not mean reckless; it means facing constraints.

“Open a Coffee” may be the goal of one team. WBCoffee itself is not a synonym for a coffee store and is not a default store-opening or franchise program.

02 / TEAM MECHANICS

Roles, tasks, choices, collaboration and Return turn a goal into a team relationship.

The “hard” part comes from seeing what each person carries, how decisions are made and what each person receives—not from adopting a label.

02A

ROLE + TASK

Who owns what

A role defines responsibility; a task defines the next action. Both can change, but the team cannot live indefinitely inside “we will all do it.”

  • Responsibilities have a scope
  • Tasks have completion or stop conditions
  • Dependencies and handoffs stay visible

02B

CHOICE + COLLABORATION

How trade-offs get made

The team needs ways to handle disagreement, permission, pace and exit. Collaboration means knowing who makes which decision when—not unanimous agreement on everything.

  • Joining and leaving are explicit
  • Consequential choices leave a reviewable record
  • Disagreement is not disguised as consensus

02C

RETURN

Say why each person invests

Return may mean a result, learning, work, relationships, reputation or an economic return defined by an explicit agreement. Without one, Return does not mean income, equity or profit rights.

  • Each team defines its return types
  • Contribution does not automatically earn equity or income
  • No outcome or return is guaranteed

“Teammate” is collaboration language, not a legal conclusion. Employment, equity, legal partnership, agency or financial-return arrangements require separate, explicit and compliant agreements.

03 / TEAM EXISTENCE

A Coffee may never open and the team may still have been real; a store may open without a real team.

A WBCoffee team is judged by goal commitment and actual collaboration, not only by whether the final output is a physical place called Coffee.

03A

FORM

Begin with explicit choice

At least two sides choose the same goal, boundary and initial responsibility, then start the first real task.

03B

WORK

Prove the relationship through action

The team produces inspectable tasks, decisions, deliveries or learning records. Shared enthusiasm alone does not prove operation.

03C

CLOSE THE LOOP

Complete, revise or stop

The outcome may be achieving the goal, rewriting it or stopping together. An honest ending can be a valid team loop.

Whether a Coffee opened is an outcome question for some goals—not a universal identity test for whether a WBCoffee team existed.

04 / DIFFERENCE

Club to Coffee is not a promotion; it is a change in the commitment structure.

Shared interest may remain in Club. Coffee begins only when specific people choose a specific goal and a shared result.

04A

WBCLUB / INTEREST

Different levels of participation

People exchange knowledge and practice around a theme without every person owning the same result.

04B

WBCOFFEE / GOAL

Carry one result together

Teammates understand the goal, roles, decisions and Return, then maintain the relationship through real tasks.

04C

EXPLICIT CHOICE

The relationship never converts itself

A Club member does not become a Coffee teammate through enthusiasm, attendance or contribution. A specific team must choose both ways.

One person may participate in a Club and join a Coffee around another goal. The scope, responsibility and exit for each relationship should be stated separately.

THREE TRUTH AXES

WBCoffee has a clear definition, but no publicly verifiable real-world team yet.

A more demanding goal makes it even more important to separate the concept, team release and real-world result.

01
